Mining slurry and dredge hose
Rubber hose for slurry, tailings and sand in grinding circuits, dredges and processing plants. Thick, soft natural rubber tube with high abrasion resistance that outlasts steel pipe in abrasive duty.
Applications
Slurry pump discharge, cyclone feed and overflow, tailings lines, sand and gravel dredge suction and discharge, concentrate transfer in processing plants and grinding circuits in gold, iron ore and aggregates mining.
A soft rubber tube absorbs particle impact instead of being cut by it, which is why a properly specified slurry hose lasts several times longer than the same run in steel pipe.
Construction
- Low-hardness natural rubber tube (40 to 45 Shore A), 1/4" to 1/2" thick depending on particle size and slurry velocity.
- Textile plies with a steel helix where the line works in suction or in self-supporting spans.
- SBR or NR cover resistant to weather and impact.
- Fixed or floating flange ends; the floating flange lets you align bolt holes without twisting the hose.
Choosing tube thickness
For fine slurry below 10 ft/s, 1/4" is enough. For coarse sand, gravel or velocities above 13 ft/s, 3/8" to 1/2" is recommended. If you have particle size and solids concentration, we use them to recommend thickness and compound.
